Failure. Avoid it at all costs. Really? The problem for anyone in leadership is that failure is inevitable. It’s easier to address the failure of your direct reports rather than your own, but failure can provide learning moments. Persistent failure is one thing. Occasional failure is the reality for anyone making decisions under stress and pressure to meet the demands of senior leadership or a customer. How can you pay it forward in times of failure?
